Waleed Mohamed Afifi
Dr. Waleed Mohamed Afifi, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce at Kafr El-Sheikh University and a prominent leader within the Department of Statistics, Mathematics, and Insurance, possesses extensive academic and administrative expertise.
He has participated in numerous national and international conferences specializing in statistics and has contributed significantly to the development of academic regulations, as well as undergraduate and postgraduate programs, in alignment with the latest academic standards.
Enhancing scientific and skill-based capabilities and contributing to the advancement of education and scientific research, thereby serving the community and preparing qualified professionals capable of innovation and tackling future challenges.

About Me
Professor Dr. Walid Mohamed Afifi Mohamed is a Professor of Mathematical Statistics and the current Dean of the Faculty of Commerce at Kafrelsheikh University. He possesses distinguished academic and administrative expertise in the fields of applied statistics, mathematics, and insurance.
Throughout his career, he has held several key leadership positions, including Vice Dean for Postgraduate Studies and Research, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, prior to his appointment as Dean of the Faculty by Presidential Decree.
He earned his Master’s degree in 2003 and his PhD in 2007 in Mathematical Statistics from the Faculty of Graduate Studies for Statistical Research (FGSSR) at Cairo University. He progressed through various academic ranks until attaining the title of Full Professor in 2018.
Through his leadership, he strives to advance higher education and scientific research, promote the use of statistical analysis in decision-making support and community service, and focus on preparing qualified cadres capable of innovation and global competitiveness.

Regulations and laws
Participating in the preparation and development of financial and administrative regulations governing special programs, including professional programs and the English Language Department, and obtaining their approval from the University Council. This also includes preparing and approving credit hour regulations for undergraduate programs in both Arabic and English, and credit hour regulations for academic and professional postgraduate programs (Arabic-English), after their approval by the Commercial Sector Committee during April 2025.
